Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of 24observe (the "Service") operated by the maintainers of github.com/vikasswaminh/observe24. By creating an account or self-hosting the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

24observe is an uptime & performance monitoring stack. We run check probes against URLs, TCP ports, and other endpoints you configure, store the results, and notify you when something breaks. Both a hosted SaaS at api.24observe.com and a self-hostable open-source distribution are offered under the same brand. These terms apply to the hosted SaaS only — the self-hosted distribution is provided under its own distribution terms — contact us for details.

2. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Monitor URLs, hosts, or services you do not own or have explicit authorization to monitor.
• Use the Service to scan for vulnerabilities, brute-force credentials, or otherwise attack third parties.
• Configure check intervals or volumes designed to overwhelm a target (we cap intervals per plan; chained accounts to bypass these caps will be terminated).
• Store secrets, PII, or regulated data in monitor names, URLs, or webhook bodies. Headers are encrypted at rest; the rest is not.
• Resell, sublicense, or white-label the hosted Service. (You may freely fork the OSS distribution.)

We may suspend or terminate any account violating this section without notice. We will refund any unused prepaid balance.

3. Plans & limits

Each plan has a hard cap on monitor count, monthly check volume, and minimum check interval. Hitting a cap returns an HTTP 429 — it does not auto-upgrade or auto-bill you. See pricing for current limits.

4. Data ownership

You own the monitor configs and check-result data in your account. We make no claim to it. You can export it at any time via the API. On account deletion, all of your data is purged within 30 days from production and within 90 days from backups.

5. Uptime & SLA

We target 99.9% monthly availability for the hosted Service. There is no formal SLA credit on the free or paid plans today — if you need a contractual SLA, self-host or contact us about an enterprise tier (not yet generally available).

6. Liability

The Service is provided "as is." Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) what you paid us in the preceding 12 months and (b) US$50. We are not liable for missed alerts, false alerts, downstream consequential damages, or anything covered by force majeure (provider outages, regional network failures, etc.). Treat 24observe as a best-effort second pair of eyes — not as your only layer of monitoring.

7. Termination

Either side may terminate at any time. You can delete your account from the dashboard. We may terminate for breach of section 2, non-payment, or to discontinue the Service entirely (with ≥30 days notice + data export window).

8. Changes

We will email account owners ≥30 days before a material change to these terms. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
